If you registered your domain through one provider and your hosting through another (or want to add an additional domain to existing hosting), here's the general process.
Step 1: Confirm your hosting plan supports it
Check whether your hosting plan allows adding additional domains, and how many. Many Hostinger plans support multiple domains on a single account.
Step 2: Add the domain in your hosting dashboard
In your hosting control panel (like Hostinger's hPanel), look for a section to add or park a new domain, and enter the exact domain name.
Step 3: Update your domain's nameservers or DNS records
Your domain registrar needs to point to your hosting provider. This usually means updating nameservers to the ones your host provides, or adding specific A and CNAME records if you're not changing nameservers entirely.
Step 4: Wait for DNS propagation
This can take anywhere from a few minutes to up to 48 hours. It's normal for the domain to be inconsistently reachable during this window.
Step 5: Verify and enable SSL
Once the domain resolves correctly, make sure SSL is issued for it — most modern hosts, including Hostinger, do this automatically once DNS is correctly pointed.
Easy domain setup: Hostinger supports adding domains from any registrar, 20% off with code QGNAFFBUSPYA.
